Trailer of Puli revealed: Sridevi, Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Shruti Haasan impress
The official teaser of the fantasy film Puli, was released by Ilayathalapathy Vijay himself on Sunday, June 21 on his official Twitter account.
“Are you guys ready to watch the teaser of Puli, 5 minutes to go,” the actor said on Twitter to his 247K followers before sharing the link of the trailer.
The 55-second long trailer shows the film to be set in the backdrop of a kingdom at war and reminds fans of Game of Thrones. It showcases Sridevi – who is making her Tamil film comeback with Puli - as a queen in dramatic gold costume, crown and makeup. It also shows Vijay and actor Sudeep as warriors.
The audience also get to see a fleeting glimpse of opulently dressed Shruti Haasan, who plays Sridevi’s daughter in the film. However, actress Hansika Motwani, who also plays a prominent role in the film was absent from the first trailer.
The film Puli is a magnum opus of Deven and is a contemporary fantasy film featuring an ensemble cast and showcases adventure, passion and kingdom rivalry. According to reports, the plot of Puli is based on Russell Crowe's The Gladiator.
Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music for this film. The first trailer of the film does not show any dialogues but just action, confrontation and a song-and-dance sequence.
The film will see Sridevi make a comeback in Kollywood after a gap of more than 20 years. The actress made her Bollywood debut in 2012 with the super-hit film English Vinglish.
