Tamil cinema superstar and veteran actor Kamal Haasan turned 61 on Saturday, November 7th 2015. The Vishwaroopam star received birthday wishes and warmth on social media from daughter and actress Shruti Haasan as well as the who's who of Kollywood including Khushbu Sundar, and Trisha Krishnan.

Just past midnight on birthday day, daughter Shruti Haasan posted on her official Twitter account: "Happy birthday to the best appa," and shared a fun-filled riotous selfie image of herself with her father Kamal Haasan to ring in the veteran actor's milestone birthday.

For the grand party, Shruti Haasan looked ravishing in a glittering Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna outfit fit for the bash.

While Twitter and Facebook was full of birthday wishes from Kamal Haasan's fans world over, Kamal's co-stars including Khushbu Sundar took to Twitter to wish the actor: A friend is someone who stands by you come what may… Honoured to have one such gem in my life – Kamal Haasan, Wishing you a very Happy Birthday my dear." Malayalam superstar Mohanlal also wished Kamal Haasan onn Twitter.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan's co-stars of many movies such as Manmadan Anbu and the upcoming film Thoongavanam, Trisha Krishnan posted pictures of her getting ready to party with Kamal Haasan during his birthday bash.

Kamal Haasan, a talented actor is also a talented dancer, screenwriter, director, playback singer, lyricist and philanthropist. He has been honoured with a Padma Shri in 1990 and a Padma Bhushan in 2014.

His next bilingual film - Thoongavanam in Tamil and Cheekati Rajyam in Telugu - is slated to release later this year. It will feature the actor alongside southern siren Trisha Krishnan.
