Pics: Stunning Deepika Padukone at MTV EMA 2016 and why UK’s Daily Mail calls her look ‘Bollywood Blunder’
MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA) 2016 was held at Rotterdam in Netherlands and 30-year-old star Deepika Padukone attended it wearing a Monisha Jaising outfit.
Deepika’s look featured a black-green metallic bra-top and a satin skirt slit upto the thigh and teamed up with a big belt. Her look featured long ear accessories (Valliyan by Nitya) and heavy smoky-eyes makeup.
While Deepika’s Indian fans applauded the actress and her MTV EMA debut look on Twitter, UK tabloid Daily Mail was less kind.
Deepika featured in Daily Mail’s worst dressed celebs at MTV EMA. The British tabloid added: “Indian actress Deepika Padukone may be stunning but her swamp green bralet and skirt combo did nothing for her sensational figure”. They termed her look ‘Bollywood Blunder’.
In contrast, Harper Bazaar featured Deepika’s MTV EMA looks in the ‘Best Red Carpet Looks from 2016 MTV EMA’. Deepika even graced the stage to present the 'Best Video' award alongside Nina Dobrev.
Deepika failed to impress all the fashion-gurus but her Indian fans were less pleased with Daily Mail’s description of the actor’s look at the music awards show. Previously, Daily Mail has faced wrath of Deepika's fan-base when the tabloid failed to recognize how huge a star she is by calling her a 'female companion' when spotted her going to dinner with tennis ace Novak Djokovic.
But Deepika nailed the post-event party look in a kimono-sleeved bold Roberto Cavalli dress.
Deepika is all set to make her Hollywood debut in 2017 with the release of her Hollywood debut xXx: Return of Xander Cage next year alongside Vin Diesel
