IFFI 2017 Photos: Bollywood stars descend in Goa for the 48th film festival

It is IFFI 2017 week! The 48th International Film Festival of India that celebrates Indian cinema was officially inaugurated on 20th November by Bollywood King Khan Shah Rukh Khan in Goa.

The film festival continues until 28th November and has seen the who's who of Bollywood including SRK, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor and their daughter Janhavi Kappor who is debuting in Bollywood with upcoming movie Dhadak. Also present were Padmavati actor Shahid Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, Rajkumar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, AR Rahman, Radhika Apte and I&B Minister Smriti Irani among others.

Smriti Irani tweeted saying "Let's celebrate the future of cinema – let the show begin" on November 20th. IFFI 2017 comes at a time when Bollywood fraternity is going through a crisis as epic film Padmavati is embroiled in controversy ahead of its release and the actor Deepika Padukone and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali have received open threats warning the film's release. Security and protection  has been upped for actor Deepika Padukone and her family in Bangalore.
