The first look poster of The Accidental Prime Minister is a powerful image showcasing the side profile of the ex-PM Singh played by Kher and a silhouette of Congress party leader Sonia Gandhi.

Sharing the first look photo on Twitter, 62-year-old Anupam Kher conveyed his excitement in portraying Mr Singh, an economist and a politician. Prior to becoming PM, Manmohan Singh was Finance Minister, Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission and a former Governor of RBI. An influential economist, Singh has always been accused of being under the shadow and influence of Congress party leader Sonia Gandhi during his tenure as PM. Anupam Kher’s Accidental PM is likely to give insightful glimpses into Singh’s political and economic career.

The Accidental Prime Minister is inspired by the 2014 book of the same name by policy analyst Sanjay Baru. The Bollywood adaptation is produced by Hansal Mehta and is scheduled to release in 2018.
