Pics, video: Aishwarya Rai returns to ramp as showstopper in Manish Malhotra couture at AICW 2015
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan showcased close friend and one of Bollywood's favourite designer Manish Malhotra's limited edition evening wear collection. Malhotra's show was titled The Empress Story – a fitting tribute to Aishwarya's grand and elegant presence
For her showstopping appearance on the ramp, Aishwraya Rai Bachchan chose a dark maroon floor length gown with rich gold embroidery. She teamed this with a heavily embroidered gold and white light jacket. The actress and former Miss World stunned the audience with her electrifying appearance.
Aishwarya's appearance to showcase Manish Malhotra couture was the grand finale of AICW 2015 and it also marks Malhotra's 25 years in the industry and 10 years of his own label. Aishwarya showcased Malhotra's limited edition collection – which aims to blend the old world charm and luxury of the 1950s with contemporary designs - for his popular London label.
The actress looked fabulous and was in full spirits as she supported Malhotra at the end when he made an appearance on the ramp to acknowledge this support and encouragement from the audience.
Other notable celebrities that showed support to Manish Malhotra's couture collection were Aditi Rao Hydari, Kriti Sanon, Sophie Choudry and Natasha Poonawala.
